GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A Grand Rapids mom who apparently set her house on fire with her three daughters inside will stand trial.
Roconda Singleton appeared in court on Monday for a preliminary examination. Her case was ultimately bound over for trial.
The fire began Saturday, Jan. 25. 2025, around 7:30 a.m. at a home in the 900 block of Eastern Avenue SE. Arriving fire crews found the home fully engulfed in flames, with visible, heavy smoke billowing from the windows.
Singleton, who was 46 at the time, lived at the home. She was standing outside and told firefighters that two of her daughters escaped to a neighbor's home, and one was still trapped inside.
