Just one month on from the dramatic finale of The Celebrity Traitors , the BBC has finally confirmed when the castle will be reopening its doors for the fourth season of the regular show.

And we’re relieved to say that there are only a few weeks left to wait.

On Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that The Traitors will return to our screens on New Year’s Day , with the new season opener airing at 8pm on BBC One.

The following evening, on Friday 2 January , episode two will air, with further information on how the rest of the season will unfold to be revealed later down the line.

And while many took issue with the fact that Celebrity Traitors only ran for nine episodes, the fourth season of the main show is back to 12 instalments in total, each clocking in at one hour.
