TYLER, Texas — Whataburger locations in East Texas took part in the "Oh What-a-Night" fundraiser, donating half of all sales. First responders say the turnout was steady all evening, with families, friends, and even regular customers.

The fundraiser raised nearly $30,000. The money will help more kids take part in December's shopping spree.

Every December, local first responders host shopping sprees for children, where they receive about $100 to shop at Walmart with local law enforcement officers and first responders.

While the kids get to pick out what they want, it's the first responders who often walk away with the real blessing.
