It’s not easy hanging with the heavyweights in the Greater Ontario Hockey League’s Western Conference these days.

The London Nationals hope a couple of recent transactions provide a mid-season boost to a squad that struggled with consistency for much of the fall.

Goaltender Finn Wilson, back in the Junior B ranks after Ontario Junior Hockey League stints in Trenton and Aurora, made 44 saves in his London return against Brantford last week. The 19-year-old had a 15-3 record with the Nationals last year while sharing the net with Casimir Weckstrom, who has since played in the British Columbia and North American hockey leagues.
