WACO, Texas — Truck drivers are sounding the alarm about extreme wait times at a facility in Waco, with one driver claiming he lost an entire day's pay after waiting 13 hours just to get through the gate.

Herschel Young, an over-the-road truck driver, says he arrived at the Graphic Packaging International facility on Bagby Avenue at 9:16 a.m. and didn't leave until 10:30 p.m. that night.

"You know, that is part of the job sometimes is waiting," Young said. "But it was so many trucks."

The facility was less than a mile away—just a 2-minute drive—but Young says he had no way to move forward in the line of backed-up trucks.

For drivers like Young, who are paid by the mile, every hour spent waiting is money lost.
