BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The KBTX Food for Families Food Drive is on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The KBTX Team will be stationed at seven different locations across six counties, collecting monetary and food donations.
Local food pantries report rising demand amid a statewide increase in food insecurity.
Texas has the largest population of people facing hunger in the nation, with 5.3 million residents experiencing food insecurity, according to the Brazos Valley Food Bank and Feeding America. The state’s food-insecurity rate rose 1% from last year’s report.
