TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Crews battled a house fire in the 1500 block of West Roger Road in Tucson on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
The Tucson Fire Department said it was called to the home in the 1500 block of West Roger Road around 6:15 p.m.
The TFD said its first truck arrived in four minutes and found a large fire and heard explosions in the yard.
“The building was a duplex with one unit fully involved; crews went defensive, fighting the fire from the outside. Neighboring units were evacuated, and after knocking the fire down, crews moved interior to put the remaining fire out,” TFD said.
Crews said most of the smoke was coming from lithium-ion batteries on the back porch, which were from a solar power system.
