When tackling a big project, whether it’s reorganizing the overflowing garage or doing an interior makeover, it’s normally best to go in phases.

Same for the Parque.

The Development Review Board considered “The Parque Phase One” at its Nov. 20 meeting.

Described as “a legacy project,” the first of multiple phases of the massive Parque on Scottsdale Road south of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard received unanimous approval.

Note: Two board members, Jeff Brand and Ali Fakih, recused themselves, acknowledging they are involved in the development.

Indeed, Brand of Nelson Architecture made a September filing with “significant changes” to the previously approved Parque plan.

He is also listed as “applicant contact” on the agenda for the Nov. 20 meeting.
