Twin Cities leaders spoke out against the Trump administration Tuesday after The New York Times reported federal officials are planning an alleged "crackdown" on Somali immigration in Minnesota.

A source familiar with the alleged operation told The Times the plan will target dozens of Somali immigrants throughout the Twin Cities region.

According to KARE 11 sources - that could be a couple hundred people, among the 80,000 Somali residents that data shows are in Minnesota.

"There are a lot of people who have come to this country to flee persecution, war," said Zakaria Abukar, who settled in Rochester, Minnesota around 1995 when he was just 6 years old.
