Eight million drivers are set to break the law over Christmas , it has been warned. More than eight million uninsured motorists could be getting behind the wheel this Christmas, with December 25 now just a few weeks away.

Driving without insurance - even for a few feet - comes with significant ramifications, including fines, penalty points, and future insurance problems, it has been warned.

The findings from car insurance provider Tempcover show when asked why they would take the risk to drive uninsured, a quarter believe it's better than letting someone who’s had a drink get behind the wheel.
