SIMSBURY, CT (WFSB) — While snow and ice that wreaked havoc on highways and side streets has stopped falling, black ice remains a concern for commuters and students returning to school on Wednesday morning.
District leaders cancelled school on Tuesday due to weather conditions, but classes resumed on Wednesday. Students walking to bus stops are advised to use caution due to slick spots throughout the area.

Even treated parking lots on Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury show remaining ice and snow despite plowing efforts. Road crews have been actively treating surfaces, with salt trucks observed passing through the area early Wednesday morning.
