A 24-year-old woman died in a nightclub toilet due to a "lethal combination" of cocaine, ketamine, and alcohol, an inquest has revealed. Chloe Ferris, from Belfast, was out with friends on the night of December 1, 2024, after having drinks at her home. Witnesses reported that Chloe had organised the purchase of cocaine, which was described as somewhat "out of character" for her group. After arriving at Lux nightclub in Belfast City Centre, Chloe and a friend entered a toilet cubicle around 1.17am. Concerned staff conducted a routine check and found the door had not opened for approximately half an hour. Upon entering, they discovered both women unconscious. While Chloe's friend regained consciousness, Chloe was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The inquest revealed that although the levels of cocaine, ketamine, and alcohol in Chloe's system were not particularly high, the combination of these substances can lead to unpredictable and dangerous effects. Coroner Joe McCrisken noted that the interaction between a stimulant and a depressant can create a hazardous situation. McCrisken expressed his belief that the cocaine Chloe had taken may have been mixed with ketamine without her knowledge. The investigation into her death remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
