Construction of a new 9,200-square-foot facility for the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry is nearing substantial completion.

In late November, contractors did the following at the site at 1201 Pine St. in Bastrop:
Millwork
Laid down pavers
Completed a patio garden wall
Installed an elevator
Finished a storefront
Poured concrete
Landscaping
Fencing
Paint touch-ups
Rainwater downspout installation
Some background
During a meeting July 28, BCEFP Executive Director Tresha Silva shared with the Bastrop County Commissioners Court that the $7.5 million project—financed through grants, individual donations, business partnerships and in-kind donations—will allow the nonprofit organization to have a larger service capacity.
