Yankee Candle will be closing several of its locations in the U.S. and Canada and will lay off 900 of its workers beginning this month.

The company’s iconic jarred candles, featuring innovative scents, rose to massive popularity in the 1990s.

In a press release, Newell, the parent company of Y ankee Candle , said it will lay off roughly 10% of its workforce over the holidays with “limited impact on manufacturing or supply chain operations.”

In January, Yankee Candle will then close 20 stores.

It’s unclear which stores will be closing. In Oregon, there is one official Yankee Candle store located in the Washington Square Mall in Tigard.

There are 18 retailers of Yankee Candle around the state, like particular Target or Wal-Mart stores, that can sell the product.
