GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Protesters at women’s medical facilities in Grand Rapids could face stricter noise restrictions under a rule change being considered by the city.

The city is considering changes to its noise ordinance due to complaints about loud protesters near a Planned Parenthood in a residential neighborhood in the Heritage Hill area.

The proposed changes were presented to the Grand Rapids City Commission’s Committee of the Whole for discussion on Tuesday, Dec. 2, with interim city attorney Philip Strom seeking guidance on whether there was enough support for the ordinance amendment to be presented later for a vote.
