HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The back and forth on vaccine exemptions in West Virginia schools has reached a new chapter.

Last week, a circuit judge ruled that religious exemptions to the state’s school vaccine policy would be allowed.

A case that’s made it’s way up to the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals will determine if children will be required to get vaccinated before going to school.

Raleigh County Circuit Court ruled in favor of allowing religious exemptions in schools, but this week the state Supreme Court put a hold on that ruling so it can hear arguments.
