COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Department of Health has selected three vendors to provide free vision services to young students in 15 high-need counties, as part of a new statewide initiative.

The Ohio Student Eye Exam program, or OhioSEE, will offer comprehensive eye care to children in kindergarten through third grade beginning early next year, ODH Director Bruce Vanderhoff announced in a statement.

For students whose families cannot afford eye doctor visits after failing school vision screenings, OhioSEE will provide care in schools and glasses when necessary. Some will set up inside a school building, and some will use a van to provide the services.
