PORTLAND, Ore. — Two Portland boutiques landed a spot on New York Times's "The 50 Best Clothing Stores in America."
The list says what's on the tin: the top 50 clothing stores across the U.S., in which a team of 11 Styles reporters and editors whittled down over 120 stores — using Times's shopping coverage, as well as recommendations from readers, reporters and editors — and selected 50 over several months, visiting all of the stores. No businesses paid for promotion or a spot on the list, the team added.
Portland's Shop Boswell and Stand Up Comedy made the cut of stores that are "surprising and satisfying and, above all else, keep alive the thrill of in-person shopping in this age of e-commerce."
