BOISE, Idaho — AAA is sharing safety tips for those buying real Christmas trees this holiday season.

AAA says its research shows that 60% of people who transported a live Christmas tree had it fall off or out of their vehicle at some point. Here are some tips to help you get the tree home:

"December is also Impaired Driving Prevention Month. With so many opportunities to celebrate with friends, family, and co-workers, it's really important to do so with safety and responsibility in mind," says AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde. "Please ensure that everyone has a safe ride home and, if necessary, a plan that avoids driving altogether."
