Odisha government hs passed a new bill, facilitating women employees to work in night shifts in shops and commercial establishments. The Odisha Assembly on Wednesday passed the Odisha Shops and Commercial Establishments Bill 2025. In the new bill, the government has increased working hours from 9 to 10 hours.
State Labour Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia said that these changes will prove beneficial for small businesses. During the passing of the bill, BJD and Congress walked out of the house in protest.
