HANOVER, Va. ( WWBT /Gray News) - Surveillance video of the now-infamous raccoon break-in at a Virginia liquor store has been released.

The release of the video comes after the masked bandit’s big adventure created a viral social media sensation.

The animal ransacked the shelves of the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control store in Ashland and was found passed out drunk in the business’s bathroom, authorities said.

The raccoon broke into the store through the ceiling during the early morning on Nov. 29.

Virginia ABC said the animal damaged the security system, triggering a power outage alert from the security company.

An animal control officer safely secured the “very intoxicated raccoon” and took it to a shelter to recover.
