OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - First Alert 6 has the headlines you need to know to get your Thursday started.
Bitter cold Thursday morning in the Omaha metro
Temperatures have dropped to the coldest levels of the season early Thursday in the Omaha metro.
According to Meteorologist Jaret Lansford, several spots have gone below zero with the air temperature, especially north of the metro.
Wind chills for much of the morning will be near or below -10 . With these conditions, Lansford says frostbite is possible in 30 minutes or less.
“Despite a lot of sunshine and temps warming into the mid 20s, the chill will remain as the south wind picks up at 10 to 20 miles per hour from late morning into the afternoon,” Lansford says.
