A woman from Newmarket has admitted that she had a sexual relationship with a man she was guarding at a Suffolk prison.

Rebecca Pinckard has admitted “wilfully misconducting” herself during her time as prison officer at HMP Highpoint in Stradishall.

Court documents specify that, between April 9 and July 6, 2024, the 46-year-old Pinckard was “engaging in a relationship” with a prisoner, and “[sent] a card to that prisoner”.

The documents state that Pinckard “[performed] oral sex on that prisoner while working as a prison officer”.

Pinckard appeared before magistrates in Suffolk on November 5, and a plea and trial preparation hearing was set for Wednesday this week.

However, Pinckard, of Red Houses, Six Mile Bottom, Newmarket, previously pleaded guilty to the charge on November 19.
