A crash in Bristol early Thursday took down a utility pole, leaving more than 100 people without power and the road shut down for hours.

The collision was reported on Washington Street around 2:20 a.m. when a crash left a utility pole snapped at the base and dangling by power lines, according to Lt. Christopher Lennon of the Bristol Police Department .

The pole was blocking the road and knocked out power to those in the area. Lennon said Washington Street was closed between Central Street and Garden Street while crews worked to remove the pole and restore power.

According to the Mayor’s Office, the injuries involved in the crash did not appear life-threatening.
