A Hartford mother is thankful for community support after losing so much after a fire.

Her family are some of the dozens of people in Hartford without a home after a fire at their apartment earlier this week. That property the city now says is owned by a problem landlord.

“We lost everything. We weren’t able to salvage anything from the apartment,” Kaitlyn Soderstrom of Hartford said.

An apartment Soderstrom and her family have lived in for nearly ten years. Their home on Albany Avenue turned into a mess of debris after a fire broke out Monday.

Soderstrom says everyone in her family including her five kids were able to get out safely. They’re among the twenty-two people forced out of their homes.
