UPDATE: Whitfield County Sheriff Darren Pierce says the deadly crash on I-75 Southbound near the Dalton and Rocky Face exit was caused by a wrong-way driver.
That driver struck a semi-truck, which then collided with a third vehicle. Three are confirmed dead, according to the sheriff's office.
All lanes will be shut down starting from Exit 345 in Catoosa County for the foreseeable future. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route off the interstate, such as Highway 41.
