LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Commuters beware, parts of US-127 are set to close for striping this week.

On Friday, Dec. 5, the Michigan Department of Transportation will close multiple ramps and lanes for striping to open northbound 127 to westbound I-496 on the US-127 building project.

The following ramps/lanes will be closed:

Northbound US-127 to Kalamazoo Street

Trowbridge Road to northbound US-127

Eastbound I-496 to northbound US-127

Other ramps as necessary

According to MDOT, all Michigan State University Special Event Traffic should plan on using the following ramps to get to campus:

Northbound US-127 to M-43

Northbound US-127 to Trowbridge Road

Westbound I-96 to Okemos Road

The work is expected to begin at 7 a.m. Friday.

The work is part of a $205 million investment to rebuil
