A Macomb County man will serve years in prison after he was convicted of setting his former girlfriend’s Warren home on fire and killing her two cats, prosecutors said Thursday.
Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Joseph Toia on Thursday sentenced Jesse Humphrey to a minimum of 6-20 years behind bars. Humphrey was given credit for 438 days served.
Humphrey, 30, of Warren, was convicted in October following a five-day jury trial on two counts of second-degree arson and two counts of first-degree animal torture/killing stemming from the Sep. 22, 2024, fire.
