A knifeman who attacked a man in the street after carrying a blade for ‘protection’ says he won’t walk the streets with a knife again. Abdulrahman Omar Salim, 19, said he was carrying a knife because he’d been stabbed previously. He knifed a man to the hand, following an incident in Cheetham Hill .

Manchester Crown Court heard that Omar Salim had been accused by his victim of throwing a rock at the convenience store where he was working. After he had been accused, Omar Salim said: “And what? I will stab you.”
