TOLEDO, Ohio — UPDATE: Toledo police confirmed to WTOL 11 that a 64-year-old male died as a result of the crash.

A pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after they were struck by a vehicle while walking on Cherry Street Thursday night, according to police.
The pedestrian, who police list as unknown and without an age in a press release, was walking southbound on the road just north of the Central Avenue intersection shortly before 6 p.m. when the driver, a 22-year-old from Toledo, hit the pedestrian while merging over to the curb lane.
The driver did not see the pedestrian, according to Toledo police.
It is unclear from the press release whether the pedestrian has died from their injuries. Toledo police did not immediately respond to
