The aviation regulator rolled back a key provision of the new crew rostering rules as IndiGo continued to grapple with nationwide flight disruptions for the third consecutive day. With IndiGo cancelling over 700 flights on Friday and utter chaos in airports, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) withdrew the provision that prevented airlines from counting leaves of crew and pilots as weekly rest.

In its order, which will be effective immediately, the DGCA referred to its earlier communication that stated that "no leave shall be substituted for weekly rest". The aviation regulator said the clause had been withdrawn for all airlines
