Residents are warning that a burnt-out Grade II listed pub in south London could collapse this winter unless urgent action is taken to shore up the rapidly deteriorating building.

The former Burn Bullock in Mitcham , which was severely damaged in a fire last April, has been surrounded by hoardings for more than a year, but locals and conservation groups say little has been done to ensure its survival.

The condition of the building has worsened dramatically in recent weeks. When the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) visited last week, part of the structure appeared exposed after scaffolding was removed from some sections.
