A visiting professor at Harvard Law School was arrested this week by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after his visa was revoked, according to government officials.

Carlos Portugal Gouvea, a Brazilian national, admitted in court last month to firing a BB gun near Temple Beth Zion in Brookline, Massachusetts, on the eve of Yom Kippur, according to a press release by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Police responded on October 1 to reports of shots near the synagogue and found Gouvea hiding behind a tree with a pellet gun, he told them he was "hunting rats."
