Former Warren Deputy Police Commissioner Charles Rushton has accepted a new job right down M-53 in Imlay City for his third law enforcement department of the year.
Rushton, who retired from the Warren Police Department in September, was recently sworn in as interim police chief for the Imlay City Police Department in Lapeer County. Imlay City is about 40 miles north of Warren.
Imlay City officials said Rushton took the interim title in late November to fill in for Chief Brett Selby, who is on a leave of absence.
“He’s only been here a short period of time, but he appears to be very competent and the officers seem happy with him,” Mayor Barbara Yockey said Thursday.
