A burglary investigation at a Mayfield business led to the arrest of a man on Thursday.

Mayfield Police said they were called to a business after someone was seen after-hours inside the building stealing copper.

When officers arrived, police said they found 43-year-old Roger Belt of Mayfield hiding under a metal bin.

Officers searched Belt and reported finding bolt and wire cutters and several feet of cut copper wire in his pockets and backpack.

Police said Belt was seen on camera on at least two other occasions in recent weeks entering the building and stealing copper.

Belt was arrested booked into the Graves County Restricted Custody Center on charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal trespassing, criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking.
