A van driver who was over the legal alcohol limit veered over the white line on a road and collided head on with a car which left a man and his aunt hospitalised with broken ribs. Police officers could smell alcohol on the driver following the collision and he was found to be more than twice the drink drive limit.

Kabeer Yassen, 43, was driving his white Citroen Dispatch in Leckwith Road, Cardiff , on December 1, 2023, when he crashed into a Ford Kuga driven by David Rodd, who had his aunt Anne Parker in the passenger seat. He was seen by a witness crossing the white line into the opposite carriageway and
