SAN ANTONIO — A suspended San Antonio police officer is back behind bars for the second time after investigators say he spent more than a year stalking his ex-girlfriend.
Humberto Zuniga Jr., 47, was arrested Wednesday. According to an affidavit, the harassment escalated over the past year, with the most recent incident reported Nov. 21.
Police say the victim suspected something was wrong on Nov. 19 and told officers she believed Zuniga was following her to an appointment in the Medical Center. When she walked outside, the affidavit says she spotted him hiding behind her car with a pipe wrench.
She immediately called police. Investigators later tracked Zuniga’s movements, confirming he’d been tailing her nearly minute by minute, according to the affidavit.
