SALISBURY, Mass. —
A teenager was taken to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle during the annual tree lighting celebration in Salisbury, Massachusetts.
Officers responded to Bridge Road at 5:26 p.m. Thursday, according to a statement from the Salisbury Police Department. The town's holiday celebration was occurring nearby on the Town Common.
Police said they identified the injured victim as a 14-year-old girl. She was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
"The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation," police said in a statement.
During the holiday event, traffic was restricted on Elm Street but was allowed to pass alongside the Common on Bridge Road.
