WORTH COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - A man from St. Ansgar is facing two charges of vehicular homicide stemming from a fatal crash earlier this year.
Blair Hansen, 21, was arrested on November 18 and is charged with homicide by vehicle - OWI and homicide by vehicle - reckless driving.
The crash happened on March 1 at 6:40 a.m. on 410th Street near Killdeer Avenue in Worth County.
Iowa State Patrol’s crash report says a Pontiac Grand Prix was headed east when the driver lost control and hit a power pole in the ditch.
The crash killed 16-year-old passenger Ayden Steele.
Hansen, who was driving, had to be airlifted to MercyOne North Iowa for severe injuries.
Investigators found the car was travelling over 25 mph over the speed limit before the crash.
