The Boston Red Sox kept reinforcing their pitching staff by acquiring Johan Oviedo from the Pittsburgh Pirates. One analyst praised Boston’s latest move.
Former first baseman Yonder Alonso called the trade a “win-win” for both teams on MLB Network’s “Hot Stove.” While the 2017 All-Star likes Pittsburgh attaining outfielder Jhostynxon García in the five-player deal, the analyst gushed over Oviedo’s potential.
“He’s got great personality. He’s got great character,” Alonso said of Oviedo. “He’s gonna work hard; he’s been working down in Miami with Aroldis Chapman already, as it is. So, I think it’s great.”
