SWEETWATER, Tenn. (WVLT) - Two people in Sweetwater have been indicted for arson after a November 2024 fire, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Melissa Whitfield and Jared Whitfield set two fires at a home in the 700 block of West Morris Street, TBI said. They were indicted Wednesday for one count of arson, one count of aggravated arson and one count of tampering with evidence.

Both were booked into the Monroe County Jail with a bond of $300,000 each, TBI said.
