EVANSDALE, Iowa (KCCI) - Friday marks 13 years since the bodies of two Evansdale cousins, 8-year-old Elizabeth Collins and 10-year-old Lyric Cook-Morrissey, were found in a wooded area in Bremer County.
Their bodies were found by hunters in the Seven Bridges Wildlife Area, about 25 miles from Evansdale.
That was months after they vanished during a bike ride that July.
This year, the state DCI crime lab said it’s using new technology to test evidence in the case.
As the search continues, Elizabeth’s parents say they will never give up hope that justice will be served.
They spoke with KCCI in an interview.
“They have to live their life wondering if today is the day that they are going to get a knock on the door,” said Elizabeth’s dad, Drew Collins. “So I hope they are miserable. One
