A proposal to clear the way for a new Clean Freak Car Wash in Maricopa is up for a vote Monday, when the city’s Planning & Zoning Commission considers a rezoning request for a 1¼-acre site near Honeycutt and Porter Roads.

The Scottsdale-based company is seeking to convert the parcel from county general business zoning to the city’s general commercial zoning, a change the application says would bring the property “into full conformity with the city’s municipal code.”

The request marks Clean Freak’s first formal step since April 2024, when InMaricopa first reported the company’s interest in opening a Maricopa location. Early plans called for a 130-foot wash tunnel, 18 vacuum stalls, three pay stations and two pre-wash stations. The car wash would operate daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
