(KRON) -- A Hayward man is accused of strangling his girlfriend to death before he allegedly tried covering his crime up by telling a bogus story to 911 dispatchers, investigators said.
Susana Vallejos, 46, of Lathrop, Calif., died inside her boyfriend's Hayward home at 1015 Highland Blvd., Hayward Police Department officials said. The boyfriend, 42-year-old Michael Flunoy, had called 911 reporting that Vallejos was suffering from a drug overdose on July 19.
When firefighters and police officers arrived, the girlfriend was not breathing in Flunoy's bedroom. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
When officers questioned Flunoy and his roommate, David Lynn, "Officers at the scene noted some inconsistencies in Flunoy’s and Lynns' statements," HPD wrote.
