PORTLAND, Ore. — A woman accused of assaulting a federal officer at Portland’s ICE facility is no longer facing charges after her attorneys planned on using her own cell phone video to exonerate her.
Prosecutors dropped the felony assault charge against Lucy Shepherd this week. A judge then dismissed the case.
On Halloween night, federal agents reported that Shepherd "struck" an officer's forearm outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Portland.
Shepherd's attorneys argued that she merely "brushed" aside the officer's arm and that Shepherd's own cell phone video corroborates that the contact was minor.
