JOHNSON COUNTY, IA — A former University of Iowa student, Ali Younes, was found guilty of multiple felonies, including robbery, theft, and attempted murder, the Iowa District Court announced on Friday. These convictions follow a non-jury trial in July 2025 overseen by Judge Kevin McKeever.
Younes was convicted of first-degree robbery and attempted murder, both Class B felonies, and first-degree theft, a Class C felony. The charges stem from an April 2022 incident where Younes assaulted a woman on the University of Iowa campus, rendering her unconscious and stealing her $20,000 earrings.
