SOMERSET – After the Somerset County Courthouse’s door-decorating contest ended a few years ago, Court Administrator Tammy Escalera said she worried the historic landmark would lose some of its holiday spirit.

So Escalera started a new tradition, decorating a 12-foot-tall tree in gold, red and shimmering garland in the center of the courthouse, where anyone who enters will see it. ×
