WEST FARGO — Discipline turned out to be the downfall for the West Fargo boys basketball team in its season opener Friday night.
The Packers found themselves in early foul trouble they were unable to overcome. With two starters fouling out down the stretch, fifth-ranked West Fargo kept things as tight as it could but ultimately fell to Dickinson 77-71 in a North Dakota Division AA nonconference contest played at West Fargo High.
"We were very undisciplined and that's my fault," West Fargo head coach Adam Palczewski said. "We kind of got away with stuff in practice and I figured our experience would weigh it out. I didn't fix it early enough and our foul trouble was strictly because we were undisciplined. That's on me."
Boston Cranston's 25 points was a team-high in the win for Dickinson
