Bhubaneswar: As cold wave returned to Odisha, mercury dropped below ten degrees Celsius in at least ten places in last 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.
G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district was the coldest place in the state recording 5.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature at Semiliguda in Koraput dropped to 7.5 degrees Celsius. ADVERTISEMENT
Mercury dropped further to eight degrees Celsius in Daringbadi. The hill station in Kandhamal district had recorded 8.5°C the previous day. The night temperature stood at 8.1 degrees Celsius in Rourkela, while Phulbani recorded 8,5 degrees Celsius.
State capital Bhubaneswar recorded 13 degrees Celsius, 3.2 degrees below normal. In Cuttack, the minimum temperature dropped further to 12.4 degrees Celsius
