In a landmark achievement and a proud moment for the nation, an Indian Army mountaineering team from the Eastern Command has successfully summited Mount Kangto — the highest and, until now, unconquered sentinel peak of Arunachal Pradesh.

Standing at 7,042 meters or 23,103 feet, Mount Kangto had long stood as an untamed guardian of the Kameng Himalayas, with no recorded successful ascent. This historic feat marks the first time the formidable peak has been conquered.
